CHIEF COLLIER'S ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITY
As chief officer of the Windsor Fire Protection District, Ron Collier is
responsible to a community of 30,000 people in a 30.75 square-mile area. Under
the direction of a five-member board of directors, Chief Collier oversees 15
full-time employees, 30 volunteers, and an annual operating budget of $2.5
million. The District operates out of two stations: Station 1,the 18,000 square
foot headquarters located on the corner of Hembree Lane and Old Redwood Highway;
and Station 2, the department’s original station, at 444 Windsor River Road. In
August 2008, construction will begin on a new Station 2 at 8600 Windsor Road.
