BOARD OF DIRECTORS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
March 17, 2009
The Board of Directors of the Windsor Fire Protection District
convened at Station 1, 8200 Old Redwood Highway, Windsor,
California, on Tuesday, March 17, 2009.
CALL TO ORDER: President McDowell called the meeting to order at
6:00 pm.
DIRECTORS PRESENT: Doherty, McDowell, Pozzi
DIRECTORS ABSENT: Brolan, Nelson
STAFF PRESENT: Ron Collier, Clerk of the Board; Mr. Arnone, District
Counsel, and 3 guests
PLEDGE OF ALLIEGANCE
CHANGES TO THE AGENDA: None
CITIZEN PUBLIC APPEARANCE: Mr. Ed Corley, Windsor resident, appeared
before the Board, expressing his appreciation for the great work the
department does and stating the community is fortunate to have the
service provided the department provides.
APPROVE MINUTES: 2009-03-01 A motion to approve the minutes of the
February 17, 2009, regular meeting, as corrected, was made by
Director Doherty and seconded by Director Pozzi. 3/0/2 (absent)
CORRESPONDENCE: 2009-03-02 Monthly payment statement and
miscellaneous correspondence were reviewed.
ACTION ITEM: 2009-03-03 Subsequent to discussion, the Board
concluded a motion was not necessary on this matter, but that a
policy must be written to address these types of issues when they
arise in the future.
BOARD COMMITTEE REPORTS
• Budget Committee: The first meeting will be in April.
• Labor Negotiations Committee: Meeting with Local 4407 on March 24,
2009.
DISTRICT COUNSEL REPORT: None
OPERATIONS REPORT: Chief Collier presented the operations report.
DIRECTOR COMMENTS/REPORTS: President McDowell instructed Director
Doherty to attend the Fire Districts Association conference in San
Diego, expenses paid by the District.
ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION: 6:35 PM
RETURN FROM CLOSED SESSION: 7:30 PM Mr. Arnone reported no action
taken.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business before the Board, on a
motion by Director Doherty, seconded by Director Pozzi, and
unanimously approved, the Board adjourned at 7:31 pm.
NEXT REGULAR BOARD MEETING: Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at 6:00 pm.
